Ulrike Franzke

Ulrike Franzke has been Head of Strategy and Corporate Development at Berliner Wasserbetriebe since January 2019. She has more than 25 years of experience in the water sector.

She studied Environmental Engineering at the University of Cincinnati, USA. After her studies, in 1994, she started her career at the Berliner Wasserbetriebe. In the first years, she carried out the process control in different wastewater treatment plants. Gradually she took over different management positions in the field of wastewater disposal, e.g. in the section of wastewater treatment plants and in the section of pumping stations. From 2010 to November 2019 she was Head of Wastewater Disposal with 1,200 employees. Parallel, Ulrike Franzke held her current position as Head of Strategy and Corporate Development from the beginning of 2019. In addition, she is Managing Director of Klärwerk Wansdorf GmbH (KWG).
