Biography
2021 – Present: Olfat Hamdan is the GEF Funded MedProgramme Management Officer at the United Nations Environment Programme/ Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP) Since 2021.
1995-2021:
- An environmental specialist, with a total of 25 years of experience in the environmental field at the Lebanese Ministry of environment, mainly on Environmental Permitting System in Lebanon, Environmental Compliance and Water, WasteWater and Sludge Management.
- Focal point of several regional and international Conventions/Programs/Projects/Initiatives under UNEP, this gave me the chance to get familiar with and gain experience with the Barcelona Convention, Basel Convention and Stockholm Conventions and their related objectives, protocols, programs and projects. At the same, this gave me the opportunity to build a very strong network of connections and enrich my experience in coordination, negotiation and collaboration with different stakeholders.
