Mohammed Kayyal

Mohamad Kayyal is head of the Mediterranean Pollution Control and Assessment Programme (MED POL) at the United Nations Environment Programme/ Mediterranean Action Plan (UNEP/MAP) Since 2018. 

2013 to 2018, WASH Technical Officer at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Damascus, Syria. 

2003 to 2013 “Senior Program Officer” in the Water and Sanitation Sector with the German Development Bank (KfW) – Damascus Office. 

Also, Professor of Civil Engineering at Damascus University 1997 to 2018. 

Registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Quebec and Ontario, Canada. 

Earned his Doctoral Degree Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin 1991.
