Biography
Matthew (Matt) Kuzma has dedicated his career to a focus on development, management, and commercialization of emerging technologies in the water & wastewater segment, with a specific interest in recovery of resources such as nutrients, energy, and water. Matt brings 25 years of experience in the global water/wastewater industry, primarily focused on advanced technologies such as membrane filtration & membrane bioreactors (applied for water reuse), nutrient recovery, anaerobic digestion (with energy recovery), and advanced biological wastewater processes. With a keen interest in travel as well as some time living abroad, markets served include North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, China, and the Middle East. Past experiences include work at USFilter, Veolia, Siemens Water Technologies (now Evoqua), Anaergia, Organica Water, and recently rejoining Ostara to lead their efforts in implementation of nutrient recovery projects globally. Matt has a B.S. in Engineering from Miami University, and currently resides in Southern California while working out of Ostara’s Vancouver (Canada) office. In addition to efforts at Ostara, ongoing work to support the Sustainable Phosphorus Alliance (as a board delegate) and other forward-thinking organizations provides great opportunities to move the industry in a more sustainable direction.
