Biography
Brendan Tierney currently serves as a Managing Director and Head of the Global Water Practice at Raymond James, a leading middle market investment bank with over 360 bankers globally.
Since 2009, Mr. Tierney has covered the water and wastewater industry and closed over 40 water-related transactions. A strong advocate for sustainability, his advisory practice is closely aligned with the three core secular trends in the industry – aging infrastructure, water quality and water scarcity. His M&A experience includes strategic sell-side transactions to Xylem, Danaher, American Water, Evoqua, US Water, Pentair and AquaVenture Holdings, among others. Mr. Tierney has also advised numerous private equity and venture capital firms as they seek opportunities within the industry. Further, he has participated in numerous equity and debt capital market transactions involving leading water companies like Aegion, American Water, Aqua America, AquaVenture Holdings, Energy Recovery, Evoqua and Rexnord.
During his 20 year career, Mr. Tierney has worked at Janney Montgomery Scott, Citigroup, Rabobank and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Tierney holds a BA from Tufts University and an MBA from The Johnson School at Cornell University.
