Biography
Breanne Plier is a certified planner who specializes in program development and management, grant writing, and community engagement. She is the Manager of Sustainability for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD). She oversees sustainability, resilience, and the Fresh Coast Resource Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management and Community Sustainability. She earned her Master’s in Urban Planning in 2014, and in 2015 earned her AICP certification from the American Institute of Certified Planners. She has over 13 years of experience developing and managing public infrastructure projects, specifically green stormwater infrastructure. Bre started as an intern with MMSD in 2008 and has continued to advance her career, now leading the MMSD’s Sustainability Team. Since 2011, she has played an integral role at the District crafting policy, performing long-range planning, and advancing the MMSD’s 2035 Vision for a more resilient utility and region. Bre is a native of the Milwaukee area and has a passion for protecting the Great Lakes.
