Biography

Mr. Alday currently serves as CEO of Water and Energy division of Abengoa. He joined Abengoa in 2010 where he has developed since then a wide range of functions, both in turnkey construction projects, operation & maintenance and also in executive positions. Amongst them, he has held different high-level positions, as EPC General Manager of its Water division, with responsibility of turnkey water treatment and desalination projects, and also General Manager of the concessions company, managing energy and water assets.

In his 30 years of career, he has had an intense international experience within the power generation and water treatment industry, working previously in a number of renowned firms as SENER Ingenieros Consultores, Ewbank Preece (currently Mott MacDonald EPO) in Dublin, Babcock Wilcox Española, and Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción.

Mr. Alday holds a Degree in Nuclear Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) and a Grade in Mechanical Engineer at the University UPV/EHU (Bilbao, Spain). He teaches at the Masters on Project Direction, IEDE Business School (Universidad Europea de Madrid), and, also in the academic field, he collaborated with the thermodynamics department of the ETSI of the University UPV/EHU (Bilbao, Spain).
