Global Water Intelligence is working with SOIL to make sure your visit to this year’s Global Water Summit in Madrid is both Water Positive and has a Zero Carbon impact.
SOIL runs a faecal sludge collection and recycling service in Haiti which reduces emissions, benefits public health and improves the fertility of the island. Methane and nitrous oxide emissions from poorly managed faecal sludge are a big contributor to greenhouse gases: SOIL’s process eliminates them and helps deliver the Sustainable Development Goals for sanitation. It is a great complement to the theme of this year’s Summit.
GWI is donating $25/ton of carbon emitted by your travel to the event to support SOIL’s work in Haiti. The NGO will leverage this with other income sources over time to ensure that your travel related emissions are fully offset.
